At least 16 people have now been killed and 36 wounded in the Israeli attack on the Hama countryside of Syria, Hama Health Director Maher al-Younes was quoted as saying by Syrian state media.
According to SANA, several of those injured are in critical condition.
The Israeli aggression also caused damage to the Masyaf-Wadi al-Oyun main road and sparked a fire in the Hir Abbas area, which firefighting teams are working to control.
“At around 23:20 on the evening of 2024/9/8, the “Israeli” enemy launched an aerial aggression from the northwest direction of Lebanon, targeting a number of military sites in the central region,” a military source in a statement.
He added, “Our air defense systems confronted the hostile missiles and shot down some of them. The aggression resulted in the martyrdom of three people, the injury of fifteen others, and material losses.”
