Seminar on September 21: Revolution of Freedom and Change

A political and intellectual seminar titled “September 21: Revolution of Freedom and Change” was organized by the Al-Thawra Foundation for Press, Printing, and Publishing.

Minister of Information, Hashim Ahmed Sharaf al-Din, emphasized that the September 21 revolution marked a pivotal moment in Yemeni history, overcoming foreign guardianship, injustice, and corruption in pursuit of freedom, justice, and dignity.

He stated, “As we begin the second decade of the revolution, it is essential for us to develop advanced proactive skills and create both defensive and offensive communications with effective coordination and insightful audience analysis to counter enemy attacks and thwart their plots.”

He emphasized that the faith identity serves as a crucial foundation for the Yemeni people to embark on their cultural renaissance and advance their struggle for freedom and independence, as well as to confront invaders and occupiers.

Sharaf al-Din noted that today’s commemoration of this national event is a reminder for all media professionals that values such as freedom, independence, positive transformation, and constructive progress are their responsibility to uphold and protect.

He also highlighted the Ministry of Information’s initiatives to strengthen media capabilities and improve services aimed at protecting  the people from all conspiracies, reiterating  the commitment to ensure that the media is both purposeful and impactful, fostering partnerships that unify efforts in the media landscape.

The Minister praised the Al-Thawra Foundation for its role in organizing the seminar and recognized all contributors and participants, reinforcing the commitment to ongoing change and development for a brighter future for the Yemeni people, as well as to achieving full victory, freedom, and independence.

During the seminar, Ahmed Rasea, the acting chairman of the Al-Thawra Foundation for Press, Printing, and Publishing, discussed the goals of the seminar, which aimed to enhance awareness of the important revolutionary efforts and accomplishments associated with the September 21 revolution at all levels.

He emphasized the significant changes the revolution has brought about compared to the prior situation, analyzing what this means and the necessary actions to take in response. Rasea pointed out that this seminar, organized by the foundation, reinforces its prominent role in tackling national issues and coordinating various initiatives to support them through a scientific and objective approach that ensures the achievement of objectives and success.

He stressed the importance of honoring the “September 21 Revolution” as the most significant revolution in the history of the Yemeni people, celebrating its achievements and core values, which embody the identity and essence of the Yemeni people, including their sacred principles of freedom, independence, dignity, and the rejection of oppression and external control.

Four papers were presented by experts addressing the revolution’s influence on national sovereignty, advancements in security, and military developments.

The first paper presented by Abdulaziz Abu Taleb, discussed the role of the revolution in restoring Yemeni sovereignty.

The second paper presented by Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mukhtar, reviewed the revolution’s achievements in meeting the aspirations for freedom and independence.

The third paper presented by Major General Ma’amir Harash, covered security advancements post-revolution compared to pre-revolution instability.

The fourth paper presented by Brigadier General Mujib Shamsan, focused on military achievements under the revolution.

The papers presented concluded that the September 21 revolution fundamentally represented a national, political, and strategic triumph for Yemen, its territory, and its citizens.

It freed Yemen from external control and guardianship, restoring the people’s autonomy and political decision-making.

The revolution initiated significant changes that surpassed its timeline, establishing a political framework defined by a clear vision aligned with the realities, priorities, and needs of Yemeni society.

The seminar featured engaging discussions and contributions from participants, who highlighted the importance of steadily advancing toward building a new Yemen, despite the intense conspiracies against the September 21 revolution.
