The Yemeni armed forces announced on Monday the downing of an American MQ-9 aircraft, which was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Dhamar province, the country’s military spokesperson Brigadier-General Yahya Sare’e said in a statement.
According to the spokesperson Brigadier-General Yahya Sare’e, the drone was downed by a locally-made surface-to-air missile.
This is the third in a week and the tenth of this type that the Yemeni air defenses were able to down during the Battle of the Promised Victory and the Holy Jihad in support of Gaza, he explained.
“The Yemeni Armed Forces, alongside all the steadfast and struggling Yemeni people, will continue to stand with the Palestinian people through qualitative military operations through land and sea. These operations will not cease until the aggression stops and the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted,” the brigadier general stressed.
