Yemen’s Ministry of Defense and the General Staff held on Thursday a graduation ceremony for several classes from the Higher Military Academy on the occasion of the September holidays. The graduates included the 7th High War Course, the 6th National Defense Course, and the 16th Joint Command and Staff Course.
At the ceremony, member of the Supreme Political Council, Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, emphasized that the Armed Forces have made sacrifices over the past ten years to defend the honor of the Yemeni people.
Bin Habtoor stated that the Armed Forces have performed a true miracle of perseverance and resilience despite aggression, conspiracies, and difficult circumstances, achieving a significant victory. He pointed out that the Armed Forces have presented honorable national models in various scientific and practical fields, astonishing the world and humiliating the arrogant nations in the development of their capabilities.
Bin Habtoor added that Yemen, through its revolutionary leadership and strong faith, has been able to achieve a great victory over all the tyrants and conspirators against the country with minimal resources. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and some Gulf countries have been conspiring and showing hostility towards the Yemeni people since the 1930s, and their aggression continues.
He clarified that Yemen’s preoccupation—military, people, and leadership—in supporting the oppressed in Gaza and Palestine will not make them forget the crimes of the US-Saudi aggression on Yemen. He also stated that the de-escalation will not last long, and there is no honor or dignity if they do not support the oppressed in Gaza.
“Yemen, as part of the axis of jihad and resistance, will offer everything it has for the victory of the Palestinian people,” he added.
For his part, Defense Minister Major General Mohammed Al-Atifi affirmed Yemen’s unwavering principled stance in supporting the Palestinian cause, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the oppressed in Gaza.
The Defense Minister said that the Yemeni army holds the keys to victory and has prepared for a long-term confrontation against the usurping Zionist entity and those who support or ally with it.
He pointed out that the confrontation against Zionist Nazism is a deeply ingrained principle, as they believe this is a sacred religious duty regardless of the sacrifices. He assured that the army and defense forces are fully prepared for intense battles and possess the will and determination to wage a relentless war.
Al-Atifi warned all forces seeking to stir sedition and chaos, diverting their attention from what is happening in Gaza, adding that the military and technical industry of Yemen is witnessing significant development across various branches and formations of their forces.
He concluded his speech by warning the forces of aggression and their mercenaries, saying, “Our hands will reach you wherever you are, and you will find nothing from us but what you hate.”
In recent months, the Yemeni Armed Forces have achieved significant victories against the naval forces of the US, the UK, and Israel. These operations led to the effective shutdown of the Port of Eilat, also known as Um Rashrash, and forced the US aircraft carriers Eisenhower and Roosevelt to retreat from the Red Sea. The Yemeni forces also sank or damaged dozens of Israeli-linked ships.
These achievements have surprised many observers, as Yemen was not previously regarded as a significant naval power. The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their operations as long as the Israeli regime maintains its war and siege against Palestinian territories.
