Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega attacked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him a “son of Satan” and “the Hitler of the present era” for his “terrorist” policies that aim to destroy peoples such as the Palestinian people in Gaza.
During an official event attended by senior army and police officers yesterday, Wednesday, Ortega stressed his country’s rejection of the continuation of the genocide in Palestine and its expansion towards Lebanon, accusing the United States of supporting and arming Israel, along with some Western regimes, to continue its dominance over the peoples of the region.
The Nicaraguan government announced last Friday evening that it was severing all diplomatic relations with Israel in response to the brutal genocide it is committing against the Palestinians.
The Nicaraguan government added – in a statement – that the continuation of Israeli attacks on Palestine, and their extension to Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran, constitutes a serious threat to regional and world peace.
This announcement was preceded by a resolution from the Nicaraguan Congress calling on the government to take action against Israel, coinciding with the anniversary of the devastating Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
