Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Ahmed Amer met today with the Resident Representative of the Islamic Relief Organization in Sana’a, Siddiq Ahmed Khan.
During the meeting, the level of implementation of projects implemented by the Islamic Relief Organization in the fields of health, water, environmental sanitation and nutrition was discussed.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed the importance of continuing to implement livelihood projects and supporting orphaned children and helping them cope with living conditions and the ability to enroll in schools, as they have a clear impact on individuals in society.
He stressed the need for the organization to play its role in working to implement more sustainable and beneficial development projects in prior coordination with the relevant government agencies.
In turn, the Resident Representative of the Islamic Relief Organization in Sana’a explained that there is a sharp decline in the level of funding for humanitarian work at the global level.
He said, “The Islamic Relief Organization relies on self-financing, which helps it remain neutral and independent and is not subject to any pressure or subject to donor conditions when implementing its projects.”
Khan explained that the organization will implement projects in the field of education during the coming period to contribute to ensuring the provision of high-quality education.
