PM: Government of Change and Construction aims to localize industrial products

Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi participated in the launch of the cement localization project organized by the Economy, Industry and Investment Ministry in coordination with the Finance Ministry , during which a partnership agreement was signed between the Yemeni General Organization for Cement Manufacturing , Marketing , the cement grinding and production factories.

The Prime Minister christened the agreement, which was signed by Ministers of Economy, Industry and Investment Engineer Moeen Al-Mahakri and Finance Minister Abdul Jabbar Ahmed Mohammed, President of the National Cement Corporation Yahya Saleh Atifa and representatives of cement grinding factories.

The Prime Minister delivered a speech at the inauguration, in which he noted the importance of this step, which comes among the important steps achieved by the economy, industry and investment sector under the Minister’s leadership Moeen Al-Mahakri in coordination with the Finance Minister.

Al-Rahwi pointed out that the government is about to localize industrial products in a number of fields and provide the necessary protection for their stability, growth and prosperity. He pointed out that the government of change and construction possesses sincere and qualified competencies to achieve achievements that mainly touch the needs, aspirations and ambitions of the steadfast, patient and steadfast Yemenis.

The Prime Minister stated that all indicators confirm that victory over the Zionist enemy is near.

For his part, Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment Engineer Al-Mahakri stressed the importance of the project to localize the cement industry, transform factories dependent on imported raw materials to produce from local materials, and seek foreign markets for export, and the economic returns this project achieves for the country and saves a huge bill of hard currency that was going to import raw materials.

“The localization of the cement industry opens wide horizons for this economically profitable industry and will play an important role in advancing the national economy and pushing the development paths in all sectors,” Minister Al-Mahakri added.

The Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment emphasized the ministry’s sponsorship of all industrial and productive projects and its keenness to develop them.

The Finance Minister pointed out that the launch of the project to localize the cement industry in Yemen opens new fields for the Yemeni General Corporation for Cement Industry and Marketing, calling for redoubling efforts by the Corporation and its factories to contribute to achieving self-sufficiency and searching for foreign markets by taking advantage of the quality advantages of Yemeni cement.

Ali Al-Hadi, President of the Chamber of Commerce in Capital Secretariat, considered the localization of the cement industry in Yemen a lifeline not only in terms of providing employment and dispensing with imports, but also as an important tributary to the local development process.

He appreciated the keenness of the Government of Change and Construction to make this project a success and the efforts of the Economy, Industry and Investment Ministry’s leadership in this field as part of broad plans to localize various industries , advance the industrial and economic reality in the country.
