Zinjbar District, the center of Abyan province, witnessed on Monday an angry popular uprising in protest against the famine that is ravaging citizens as the economic conditions continue to deteriorate.

The participants in the protest, which was organized for the third week in a row, raised banners and slogans denouncing the systematic starvation policy followed by the Saudi-led aggression and its loyal government against citizens in Abyan and the rest of the southern provinces.

The demonstrators rejected what they called the policy of starvation and impoverishment in conjunction with the collapse of basic services, most notably electricity, water, and health, and the deliberate delay in employee salaries.

Those in charge of the “popular uprising” confirmed the continuation of their popular escalation until the citizens’ demands are met and urgent solutions are found to the catastrophic situation in the economic and service aspects.

The protesters called on citizens in Aden and the rest of the southern and eastern provinces to overthrow the pro- aggression government and the “Leadership Council” and expel the coalition that contributed to the destruction of the economy and services in response to suspicious agendas against Yemen since the beginning of 2016
