Traffic police in Sana’a announces use of smart radars to combat speeding

The General Department of Traffic Police in the capital Sana’a has announced the start of monitoring excessive speeds of vehicles using smart radars.

The traffic police said that it “will start experimenting with monitoring excessive speeds on highways using smart radars,” indicating that implementing this comes within the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior and the Traffic Police for traffic control on the roads.

It added that working with smart radars comes within the developmental traffic plan towards digital transformation through modern electronic systems.

This step represents a qualitative shift in achieving the highest levels of traffic safety by preserving lives and property on the roads to reduce excessive speed, the traffic department explained.
