Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi chaired an extraordinary meeting on Saturday by Supreme Political Council member Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, discussing a temporary exceptional mechanism to support the state employees’ salary bill and resolve the issue of depositors’ funds in commercial and government banks.
The meeting was attended by Parliament Speaker Yahya Ali al-Ra’i, Ministers Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi, and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Abdul Salam Zabiya.
The meeting also was attended by the Ministers of Finance Abdul Jabbar Ahmed Mohammed, Economy, Industry, and Investment Engineer Moeen Al-Mahakri, Secretary General of the Parliament Abdullah Al-Qasimi, and Assistant Secretary General Abdulrahman Al-Mansour.
The meeting addressed the investment law approved by the Government of Change and Construction, which will be presented to the parliament during its current session.
Al-Houthi pointed out that many issues need to be addressed and emphasized the importance of collective efforts to find solutions.
He stressed that everyone must fulfill their duties in addressing these challenges and overcoming the plots orchestrated by the enemies of the nation, particularly economic issues.
He also expressed hope that the coming period would witness active efforts to address significant national issues in line with the directives of the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badreddin Al-Houthi, and implement these solutions to meet the hopes and aspirations of the Yemeni people.
Al-Houthi acknowledged the exceptional circumstances resulting from the ongoing aggression, blockade, and the continued US-British-Zionist aggression against Yemen. This situation is a consequence of Yemen’s support for the Palestinian cause and solidarity with the people of Gaza and Lebanon. These circumstances, including the suspension of salaries and operational expenses, have created significant obstacles that hinder the effective implementation of necessary tasks.
For his part, the Parliament Speaker emphasized the need to implement development programs that align with the current stage’s requirements, including the temporary exceptional mechanism to support the salary bill for state employees, resolving the issue of depositors’ funds, and passing investment and development bills to meet the needs of the change and construction phase.
He reiterated the Council’s readiness to discuss any projects submitted by the government that serve the needs of the stage and the interests of the Yemeni people.
The Prime Minister, in turn, praised the House of Representatives for its honorable positions and its reflection of the revolutionary and political leadership’s directions and the aspirations of the Yemeni people. He also commended the efforts made by the Council in both legislative and oversight roles.
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination to achieve the public interest, enhance steadfastness, and overcome the challenges of the current stage. This will pave the way for economic reforms necessary for the success of the change and construction process.
