A prominent member of the Political Council, the highest authority in Sana’a, revealed on Sunday an assassination attempt against him in Taiz.
Sources close to Sultan al-Sama’i reported that “mercenary” factions bombed his meeting place in the Sam’a district – his hometown north of Taiz city – The sources explained that al-Sama’i was in a meeting with sheikhs and dignitaries of the district as part of efforts to reconcile, forgive and ease the burdens on citizens when his council was bombed.
Al-Sama’i has been leading attempts for months to bring Sana’a closer to the local forces supported by the coalition and controlling the city of Taiz.
