US President Joe Biden confirmed that Sana’a “Houthi” forces continue to pose a threat to US forces, their military ships, and cargo ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
This came in a letter he sent to Congress on Friday regarding the war powers report, which was published by the White House.
Biden said in his letter that the attacks that began in November 2023 posed “a threat to the safety of US forces, commercial vessels, and their crews, regional political and economic stability, and the rights and freedoms of navigation.”
He pointed out that US forces launched separate strikes against Houthi facilities, sites, and equipment in Yemen, saying that they aimed to reduce the risk of escalation and avoid civilian casualties, according to the text of the letter.
