A specialized training course in the field of civil defense, organized by the Civil Defense Branch in cooperation with the General Mobilization Office in the governorate, was launched today in Sana’a Governorate, with the participation of 38 trainees from various directorates of the governorate.
The four-day course aims to prepare participants to deal with disasters and emergencies, as part of a project aimed at forming trained defense teams in the districts.
During the opening of the course, the governorate’s undersecretaries for the services sector, Fares al-Kahali, and the Civil Defense Department, Brigadier General Hussein Aziz, confirmed that the project seeks to qualify a thousand trainers in civil defense at the governorate level, to enable them to deal with accidents such as natural disasters, floods, fires, and other emergencies.
Officials stressed the importance of the project in enhancing the role of youth in community service and raising the level of readiness to deal with accidents. The director of the civil defense branch in the governorate, Colonel Muhammad Jaafar, and the deputy director of the governorate’s security, Colonel Muhammad al-Jabri, also pointed to the need for trained teams to cooperate with rescue teams in the face of emergencies.
