The Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water, Adel Saleh Bader, paid an inspection visit to the Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in Saada Governorate to see the progress of work and the level of providing water services to citizens.
During his visit, the Deputy Minister listened to an explanation from the Director of the Foundation, Mohammed Qasim Al-Saadi, on the needs of the Foundation and the level of implementation of its interim plan for the year 1446 AH, in accordance with the priorities of the Government of Change and Construction.
During a meeting chaired by the Deputy Minister and included the directors of the institution and the concerned departments, the requirements of the institution for projects in the governorate center and the challenges it faces as a result of the continued aggression and siege were discussed. The meeting also reviewed the latest developments of the Sa’ada City Sewage Treatment Plant project, which aims to improve the environment and wastewater treatment, and ways to overcome obstacles facing its implementation.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of continuing to provide water services and implement projects that serve the people of the province and alleviate their suffering. He pointed to the ministry’s special interest in water and sanitation projects, especially those that rely on alternative energy, stressing the need to maintain them regularly to ensure their sustainability and improve their services.
The Deputy Minister was also briefed on the project of the Central Laboratory for Water and Sanitation, which is being implemented with funding from the United Nations Project Services “UNEPS” at a cost of $ 427,000, in addition to his visit to the Dhahyan Water Project, where he discussed its needs and directed to integrate it under the supervision of the local institution to ensure the provision of clean water to the population.
These inspection visits confirm the Ministry’s commitment to work on developing water and sanitation services, despite the current challenges, by completing vital projects in cooperation with donors.
