The scope of strikes has expanded in the educational sectors in areas under the control of the government loyal to the Saudi-Emirati coalition.
The Teachers Syndicate in Shabwa Governorate announced a complete closure of schools and the suspension of the educational process starting today, Wednesday, December 4, in order to demand the payment of three months of delayed salaries in one installment.
A few days ago, a number of schools in the southern Yemeni governorates of Aden and Abyan announced the closure of their doors in protest against the non-payment of teachers’ salaries.
This comes amid a widespread uprising in the education sector and government universities against the Bin Mubarak government, coinciding with the latter’s inability to pay employees’ salaries.
