Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Ahmed Amer discussed with Anshrah Ahmed on Monday the activities implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Sana’a.
During the meeting, Minister Amer listened to the UNFPA Resident Representative’s report on her field visit to a number of projects implemented by UNFPA in Ibb and Taiz provinces.
The Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister emphasized the importance of UNFPA continuing to move forward in implementing women’s economic empowerment projects, which will help open new horizons and fields for women’s work to earn a living.
The UNFPA Resident Representative emphasized that UNFPA is keen to ensure that all the projects it implements are in accordance with the needs of the community, especially the needs of women.
He explained that UNFPA is working to rehabilitate midwives in most Yemeni districts and villages and provide them with the necessary medical equipment.
