In light of the ongoing 435th day of Zionist-American aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas is marking the 37th anniversary of its launch.
Today, Sunday, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas commemorates the 37th anniversary of its launch, with its military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, engaging in heroic confrontations with the enemy, not the least of which was the Al-Aqsa flood battle, which has been ongoing for more than a year.
Hamas was launched on December 14, 1987, to accompany the Stones Intifada, and the first statement of the movement was drafted in the home of the founding Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, then the movement’s influence spread a lot, after its strong involvement in the resistance to the Zionist enemy.
The launch of Hamas constituted a lever in the history of the just Palestinian cause, and to represent a driving force for the jihadist and combative action on the land of Palestine, to explode again with the announcement of this blessed launch all the latent Palestinian anger against this Zionist occupation in the great Stones Intifada, in which an overwhelming popular revolution was integrated with a valiant resistance, of which Hamas was the pioneer and backbone.
The movement shaped the nature of the relationship with the Zionist enemy entity, after some tried to change the equation by talking about the possibility of a settlement with the occupier, and the word of the Palestinians said: “We are an occupied people from the last colony in the world, and we have the right to practice all forms of resistance until we expel this occupier from all our land, and there is no room for bargaining or bartering on any of our rights with the Zionist entity.”
This demarcation, which was established by Hamas through its resistance and jihad in harmony with all the resistance forces of the Palestinian people, is what preserved the original features of the national cause and prevented attempts to minimize it and confine it to narrow ranges.
With the launch of Hamas, the deepening of the resistance movement in Palestine, and the expansion of the Palestinian national struggle represented by Hamas, the cause of Palestine became entrenched in the conscience of the nation with all its components as its central issue, and took root in its collective conscience as an extension of the nation’s jihad, and the cause of Palestine became a living icon for all the free people of the world as the noblest and most just cause, and it became impossible to obscure or obscure this cause.
The movement also contributed to the increasing presence of the Palestinian cause, which came as a result of the struggle of the Palestinian people and all their national forces, with Hamas at the center of it, and the movement made an extended caravan of great sacrifices of martyrs, prisoners, wounded, and deportees.
The crown jewel of Hamas’ sacrifices was the martyrdom of the Sheikh of Palestine, the martyr of the nation and the witness to it, the founder of the movement, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, along with thousands of the movement’s sons and leaders, including the martyrdom of leaders Ismail Haniyeh, Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri and Commander Yahya Sinwar, whose blood flowed with the blood of the martyrs of the contemporary Palestinian revolution, to draw the full map of Palestine and protect it from reduction and guard it from decrease.
On the anniversary of its founding Hamas issued a statement noting that the anniversary comes in light of “an integrated genocidal war, ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, starvation and thirst, the likes of which modern history has never witnessed.”
The movement praised “the legendary steadfastness of our people in the Gaza Strip, men and women, elders, youth and children, who faced the war of genocide, starvation, thirst and horrific violations, with patience, persistence, bonding and sacrifice, cohesion, solidarity and solidarity, and insistence on adhering to the land, constants and holy sites.”
According to the statement, the movement emphasized its openness to “any serious and real initiatives to stop the aggression and crimes of the occupation against the Palestinian people, with its firm commitment to its rights, constants and aspirations, and its adherence to the return of the displaced, the withdrawal of the occupation, the relief of the Palestinian people, the reconstruction of what the occupation destroyed, and the achievement of a serious prisoner exchange deal.”
She added: “Our people have the absolute right, ability, competence and free will to decide their future and arrange their internal house by themselves, and no one may impose a trusteeship on them or decide on their behalf.”
The movement emphasized its rejection of “any international and Zionist projects that seek to determine the future of the Gaza Strip in accordance with the standards of the occupation and in a way that perpetuates its continuation.”
The movement stressed that it will remain faithful to the rights and constants of the Palestinian people at the human, land and Jerusalem levels, and will stand as an impenetrable dam in the face of all attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause, especially the deal of the century and its consequences.
The movement held “the administration of US President Joe Biden, a partner in this aggression, fully responsible, politically, legally, humanly and morally, for its support for the occupation in this aggressive war by all means.” The movement called on the new US administration “to work to stop the aggression and genocidal war and not to side with the occupation in continuing its criminality against our people and their legitimate rights.”
The movement called on the International Court of Justice and all human rights organizations to “continue their work in documenting Zionist war crimes against the Palestinian people and bringing the perpetrators to trial and preventing their impunity.”
The founding statement of Hamas was issued on December 15, 1987, during the First Intifada, which took place from 1987 to 1994.
Activists on social media celebrated the 37th anniversary of the launch of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, amid calls to stand with the resistance in the Gaza Strip and support it in light of the Zionist-American aggression that has been ongoing since October 7, 2024.
The anniversary of Hamas this year came at a time when the Zionist enemy continues its genocide on the Gaza Strip, and in great challenges faced by the Palestinian movement, which was founded on December 14, 1987, by a group of leaders in the Gaza Strip, the most prominent of whom was Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.
The movement’s launch coincided with the beginning of the first Palestinian uprising, known as the “Stone Intifada,” on December 9, 1987.
