Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, has released a video of American-Israeli soldier Edan Alexander, held captive for over 420 days. In the footage, he criticized Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu and appealed to US president-elect Donald Trump to act for his release.

The video, titled “Soon … Time is running out,” was posted on Saturday on the Telegram channel of al-Qassam Brigades.

Alexander accused Netanyahu of abandoning Israeli captives. “I saw you on the news, and it broke my heart,” he said. “You spoke about offering $5 million for anyone who brings us back alive, but what about protecting us as your citizens and soldiers? You abandoned us.”

He said he was living in constant fear. “We die a thousand times every day, and no one feels our pain.”

He urged the Israeli public to protest daily and demand action. “Don’t forget us. We want to return home with our sanity. Fear and isolation are killing us. End this nightmare.”

Alexander appealed to Trump as an American citizen. “I’ve always believed in the power of the United States,” he said. “Please use your influence and negotiate our freedom. Every day here feels endless, and the pain only grows.”

He criticized US policies under outgoing president Joe Biden, stressing that American weapons were used against Israeli prisoners.

“Don’t repeat Biden’s mistakes. The weapons he sent are killing us, and the siege is starving us. I don’t want to die like Hersh,” he said, referring to Hersh Goldberg, another American-Israeli reportedly killed recently by the Israeli occupation army.
