The Secretary General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, emphasized in a speech on Thursday evening 5 December 2024 that “the Zionist enemy tried through its aggression to eliminate the Lebanese resistance, but the latter faced it with a legendary steadfastness in the battle of “Olul al-Baas”, which lasted 64 days of sacrifices and pain, relying on faith in God, patience and steadfastness.”
Sheikh Qassem explained that “the victory in this battle was the result of three main factors.”
– The presence of the martyred resistance fighters and their steadfastness in the field with courage and dedication.
– The blood of the martyrs, headed by the master of the nation’s martyrs, His Eminence Sayyed Nasrallah, which gave the resistance a momentum and moral impetus to continue.
– The rebuilding of Hezbollah’s command and control structure, which helped manage the battle with efficiency and balance.
He emphasized that the resistance continues , will continue to develop and shine to achieve more achievements.
“The resistance agreed to the cessation of aggression agreement as part of the mechanism to implement Resolution 1701, which stipulates Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the prohibition of the presence of militants south of the Litani River,” Sheikh Qassem explained.
“Israel has committed more than 60 violations of the agreement, which calls for a firm follow-up from the Lebanese state,” he added.
“Hezbollah is giving the Lebanese state the opportunity to make the agreement work,” he said, stressing that “the resistance does not allow Israel to interfere in internal affairs or the relationship between Hezbollah and the Lebanese army.”
