Mass executions returned to the scene in southern Yemen on Sunday.
This coincides with the return of the activity of pro-government parties amid attempts to impose a new reality.
Al-Qaeda announced the implementation of a mass execution operation that targeted about 11 people. The organization did not clarify the details of the liquidation or the motives, but it labeled the victims as “agents.”
Although Al-Qaeda is strongly active in the southern governorates and under the cover of the so-called “state,” this is the first time the organization has announced the implementation of this volume of executions in one day.
The operations brought the scene back to the early beginnings of the Saudi-led war on Yemen in March 2015, when terrorist organizations dominated the scene with mass massacres in Hadramout and other governorates.
These developments come at a time when Saudi Arabia is preparing to restore the authority loyal to it to Aden.
