Ministers of Health, Social Affairs & Economy Inaugurate Al Amal Oncology Hospital

Health Minister Dr. Ali Shaiban, Social Affairs, accompanied by Labor Minister Samir Bajajalah, and Economy, Industry, and Investment Minister Engineer Moin Al-Mahagari, inaugurated Al-Amal Cancer Hospital, which is part of the National Cancer Control Foundation.

They toured the hospital, which includes male, female, and pediatric inpatient wards, a therapeutic unit, intensive care, surgical operations, clinics, a laboratory, a pharmacy, and an X-ray department.

During the inauguration, Health Minister Dr. Shaiban praised the achievement of this important project, highlighting the significance of community partnership.

He said, “The health sector and medical services can only succeed and improve through community participation, and Al-Amal Hospital is the best example of this.”

He pointed out the role of commercial houses, businessmen, and investors in the establishment of the hospital to provide medical and treatment services for cancer patients.

Dr. Shaiban expressed hope for the implementation of similar projects in other provinces to alleviate the suffering of cancer patients.

He also called on the community and the private sector to contribute to the establishment of such centers and hospitals to ease the burden on cancer patients, whose numbers have increased in recent times.

For his part, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Samir Bajajalah congratulated the National Cancer Control Foundation on the opening of Al-Amal Cancer Hospital, which will alleviate the suffering of patients.

Bajajalah commended the private sector’s efforts in helping patients and the social field.

He also praised the role of businessmen and their contributions to providing social and healthcare services to the community, especially under the current circumstances.

Bajajalah expressed hope that the hospital would serve as a model for the creation of similar hospitals in other provinces to ease the suffering of cancer patients.

Minister of Economy, Al-Mahagari, praised the community initiatives and the contribution of the private sector to the opening of the hospital as a model that should be followed in the rest of the governorates.

He emphasized the importance of the hospital in providing services to cancer patients, who must be given attention and health care, whether from the government or the private sector.

He touched on the program of the Government of Construction and Change to support the establishment of such specialized health facilities.

He pointed out that the investment law set incentives for the establishment of specialized centers for the treatment of cancer and other diseases.

Meanwhile, The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cancer Control Foundation, Al-Kbous, confirmed that the hospital will provide medical and therapeutic services to cancer patients who suffer from the scourge of the disease and its harsh consequences and exorbitant costs.

He explained that the foundation will continue to fulfill its humanitarian mission, which began 20 years ago, and provide medical services and social care for patients.
