PM Chairs Meeting Discussing Alternative Plan For Ministry Of Electricity, Energy & Water

A meeting was held in Sana’a today, chaired by Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, to discuss an alternative plan for the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water to ensure the continued stability of power, particularly in the capital, Sana’a, and Hodeidah Governorate.

The meeting reviewed the components of the plan, including alternatives to address any new attacks on power plants and ensure the continuity and stability of electricity services provided by the Public Electricity Corporation.

The meeting also discussed the damage caused to the Haze and Dhabhan power stations due to the Israeli aggression and the efforts of the Public Electricity Corporation to assess and repair the damage.

It highlighted the quick response by technical teams in restoring Haze station operations within hours after the attack, while repairs continue at Dhabhan station.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the urgent electricity and energy needs in the southern districts of Marib Governorate, stressing the importance of incorporating these needs into the ministry’s plan for the coming year.

Dr. Ali Seif and his Deputy Bader presented the projects implemented and ongoing in the southern districts of Marib and discussed the planned projects for the upcoming year.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister confirmed the government’s support for the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water’s emergency alternative plan, which aims to enhance the readiness of this vital sector amid the ongoing aggression targeting the nation’s capabilities and infrastructure.

The Prime Minister instructed the ministry’s leadership to expedite the completion of ongoing projects in the southern districts of Marib and coordinate with local authorities on upcoming projects, while commending the efforts of the ministry’s technical teams in addressing the damage caused by the Israeli attack on the Haziz and Dhabhan power stations.
