Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, during his meeting today with Minister of Information Hashem Sharaf Al-Din, was briefed on the activity of the ministry and its affiliated bodies and the ministry’s plan to develop the general performance level of the media sector.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts made by the ministry’s leadership to improve and develop media performance at the level of the ministry and its affiliated institutions and its vision to organize and enhance the role of private media.
He stressed the government’s support for the ministry and its development projects in a way that enhances the important national role of this sector and its enlightening role and the strength of its presence in confronting hostile media and its misleading approach targeting awareness.
In his part, the Minister of Information reviewed the current situation of the ministry and media institutions and the most prominent development projects to keep pace with developments in this vital field and the most important work accomplished during the past months, especially with regard to the technical aspect.
In this regard, he pointed out that the ministry is in the process of submitting a draft media law, which was prepared to meet the major changes arising during the period extending from the approval of the law in force in 1990 until today, especially with regard to television, radio and electronic media.
