The President of the Shura Council, Mohammed Hussein al-Aydarus, called on the Association of Senate , Shura Councils , similar councils in Africa , the Arab world and the heads of similar councils to stand by Syria in the face of the blatant aggression it is facing from the Israeli occupation.
This came in a letter addressed to the President of the Association, Al-Naam Mayara Athar, and the heads of similar councils regarding the Zionist escalation and its occupation of new areas in Quneitra and Mount Hermon, incursion into the buffer zone with Syria and repudiation of the disengagement agreement signed in 1974.
He pointed out the importance of the League , similar councils during their work , meetings at the level of members to face and condemn the dangerous Israeli escalation against Syria , emphasize the rejection of the occupation’s expansionist policy , come up with recommendations and decisions that contribute to pressure in international forums to stop Israeli aggression , violations in Syria, Gaza and Lebanon.
Al-Aydarus condemned the Zionist aggression against Syria, the occupation of new parts of its territory , the targeting of the vital and strategic resources of the Syrians, considering this a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of an Arab country, a blatant assault on its territory , facilities, a violation of international covenants , treaties and the UN Charter.
He denounced the shameful international silence , the policy of turning a blind eye and double standards towards the blatant aggression against the Syrians and the peoples of the region, stressing that Yemen’s leadership and people stand by the Syrians against the Zionist project that targets Syria’s unity and independence and seeks to impose a new expansionist settlement reality in the region.
Al-Aydarus called on Arab and Islamic countries to raise the level of their positions and move away from the circle of condemnation , denunciation to practical , pressing steps to stop the Israeli aggression and violations in Syria, Palestine and Lebanon.
He stressed the importance of joint Arab solidarity , unity to face the challenges and the Zionist threat that threatens the security , stability of the region, and the importance of supporting efforts that guarantee Syria’s stability, unity , territorial independence to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the Syrians.
