The Shura Council condemned the Israeli aggression on Syria, which included taking control of new areas in the demilitarized zone, bombing key infrastructure, and crippling Syria’s defense capabilities.

In a statement issued today, the council described the Israeli aggression on Syria as a continuation of the flagrant violations and war crimes, including the genocide, carried out by the Zionist entity in Palestine, Lebanon, and the region, showing complete disregard for human values and international laws and agreements.

The council stressed that the Israeli occupation’s actions in Syria are a clear violation of Syria’s sovereignty and a breach of both international law and the 1974 disengagement agreement.

It warned that these actions reflect the Zionist entity’s aggressive attempts to assert its dominance and pursue colonial expansion in the region, backed by the US and Western countries.

The council called on the Association of Senates, Shura Councils, and comparable councils in Africa and the Arab world to take a stand against the Israeli escalation, denounce these assaults, and push for action in global platforms to prevent the Zionist entity from continuing its blatant transgressions in Syria and Palestine.
