The United Nations General Assembly has overwhelmingly adopted a resolution calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The resolution, which was voted on Wednesday evening, calls for an unconditional ceasefire in the Gaza Strip by all parties.
The resolution also affirms the United Nations’ support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in its work in the occupied Palestinian territories. The resolution was adopted by a majority of 158 votes in the 193-member General Assembly.
