The US has officially acknowledged the loss of a new MQ9 drone, the 13th, during a surveillance and aggression operation in Yemen.
A Pentagon official told Newsweek: “We are aware of reports of an American drone being shot down,” Confirming that “the Pentagon is currently looking into the matter.”
On Saturday, the spokesman for the armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced the downing of an American MQ9 drone with a locally-made surface-to-air missile in Al Bayda Governorate, indicating that the drone is the thirteenth to be shot down in Yemen.
