The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Saturday that the Israeli occupation forces have arrested Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, confirming that the patients evacuated from the hospital experienced a harsh night.
Israeli occupation forces stormed Kamal Adwan Hospital yesterday, evacuating both male and female medical staff, along with patients and residents living near the hospital, and forced everyone to move to Al-Fakhoura School, where they were detained in the schoolyard.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that the occupation forces took dozens of the Kamal Adwan Hospital staff, including Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, to a detention center for interrogation.
In a statement today, the health ministry indicated that the evacuated patients and injured individuals forced to relocate to the Indonesian Hospital experienced a harsh night, living in a dire and extremely difficult situation, lacking water, electricity, blankets, food, and basic supplies.
The ministry warned that for these patients, “the countdown to losing their lives has begun,” as the occupation has detained most of the health staff to prevent them from joining the patients at the Indonesian Hospital.
The health ministry pointed out that the Israeli army had previously destroyed the infrastructure of the Indonesian Hospital before forcibly evacuating patients there. It called on all relevant institutions and parties to urgently intervene to find a solution for the patients and injured individuals currently at the Indonesian Hospital.
Medical sources reported early Saturday that several medical staff members at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza were martyred by deliberate fires set by the occupation forces after they besieged and stormed the hospital.
