A number of firefighting and rescue vehicles have stopped working in the governorates of Gaza, the Middle, and Khan Yunis, due to the lack of maintenance parts and equipment needed to repair and operate them.

The Civil Defense in Gaza said that during its ongoing aggression, the Zionist occupation destroyed most of the equipment, devices, and repair parts that were available in the local market and met the minimum maintenance requirements of our vehicles, and also destroyed the Civil Defense’s own stock of this equipment.

The Civil Defense called in a statement on all international, regional, and Arab humanitarian organizations to urgently bring this equipment and maintenance parts into the Gaza Strip before other firefighting and rescue vehicles break down, which will perpetuate the crisis that has been ongoing for months, and will greatly limit the ability of our crews to respond to citizens’ calls.

He added: “This comes as more than half of our vehicles in the governorates of the Gaza Strip continue to stop working due to the lack of fuel needed to operate them.”
