The Minister of Health and Environment, Ali Abdul-Karim Shiban, met today with the Regional Director of Spanish Doctors Without Borders, Hamidan Muhammad.
The meeting discussed aspects related to the health sector, particularly in the governorates of Hajjah, Hodeidah, and strengthening cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, the Minister praised the organization’s efforts in the projects it implements in the governorates and in improving health services.
He emphasized the need to expand emergency health services, including surgical and operation services, and highlighted the importance of supporting and strengthening mental health services.
Shiban urged Doctors Without Borders to represent the Ministry’s voice to the world, especially given the blockade imposed on Yemen.
He stressed the importance of mobilizing resources to achieve the vision of the Government of Reconstruction and Change.
For his part, Hamidan Muhammad appreciated the continued support of the Ministry of Health leadership in facilitating the registration of the organization’s activities in the country.
He affirmed the organization’s commitment to providing an effective response that meets the needs and priorities of the Ministry of Health.
