During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting focused on maternal and neonatal health in Yemen, with an emphasis on improving and enhancing health services provided in health facilities and community services, as Yemen suffers from high rates of maternal and neonatal mortality and diseases.
In the meeting, the Minister of Health stressed the importance of providing necessary medications and equipment according to the needs and standards of the Ministry of Health, as well as improving the capacity of healthcare staff to reduce unnecessary cesarean deliveries and promote health awareness among doctors and citizens to safeguard the health and safety of mothers.
For her part, the UNFPA Representative emphasized the commitment to expanding health services for mothers and newborns, providing life-saving medications and equipment, and supporting the midwifery program due to its importance in ensuring safe natural births and increasing service coverage.
