Yesterday morning, Friday, Israeli occupation aircraft launched raids on defense laboratories and the Scientific Research Center in the Al-Waha area, affiliated with the Al-Safira area, southeast of the city of Aleppo, northern Syria.

The Anadolu Agency quoted local sources as saying that the air base in the Al-Safira area and warehouse numbered 404 were subjected to about 10 Israeli raids.

The sources explained that the raids resulted in deaths and injuries, without specifying a specific number.

They indicated that “Israeli forces carried out a landing operation in the area, and sounds of clashes were heard,” without further details about the parties to the clashes. For its part, the Syrian Al-Watan newspaper reported hearing successive explosions in the Aleppo countryside.

It said that an Israeli aggression targeted “defense laboratories and the Scientific Research Center” in the Al-Safira area in the Aleppo countryside.

A video clip was circulated on social media documenting the moment of the bombing, which caused tongues of flame to rise. The Al-Safira area includes defense industry facilities and a military research center from the era of the Bashar al-Assad regime.

This is the second targeting of its kind on Syrian military sites since the beginning of 2025, as Israeli fighters had previously raided the 90th Brigade Command in the Saasaa area in the countryside of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The Israeli occupation continues its attacks on Syrian territory, as its forces are now on the outskirts of the Mantara Dam, in the Quneitra countryside, which is the largest water dam in southern Syria.

This move was described as the most dangerous since the beginning of the Israeli incursions into Syria, amid warnings of its repercussions on the water security of the region.

This move coincided with the establishment of military bases by Israeli forces in several locations surrounding the dam, after its tanks and soldiers penetrated the area. It also imposed strict restrictions on the movement of residents in and out, specifying specific times for movement, which raised increasing concerns among the residents.

With this move, the Israeli forces have taken control of the 6 most important water bodies in southern Syria, in addition to occupying sites overlooking the capital, Damascus.
