The Lebanese Army Command has called on citizens to wait before heading towards the southern border areas, following the expiration of the 60-day period since the ceasefire.

In a statement issued on Saturday by Orientation Directorate, it clarified that the border areas still contain landmines and suspicious objects left behind by the Israeli enemy, which poses a significant threat to the safety of residents.

The statement stressed the importance of citizens being responsible and adhering to the Army Command’s directives and the instructions of the deployed military units, in order to preserve their safety.”

According to the statement, military units are constantly working to complete engineering surveys, open roads, and deal with unexploded ordnance, and are closely monitoring the operational situation, especially with regard to the ongoing violations of the agreement and attacks on Lebanon’s sovereignty, in addition to the destruction of infrastructure and the demolition and burning of homes in border villages by the Israeli enemy.

The Lebanese Army is making significant efforts to ensure the security and stability of the border areas, including removing the risks posed by unexploded ordnance, which directly threaten the lives of citizens.

The statement called for patience and urged citizens to wait until the completion of efforts to fully secure these areas.
