Chief of the Los Angeles Fire Department, Christine Crowley, criticized the city’s management regarding the firefighting, saying that the city’s management failed us.
The chief of the Los Angeles Fire Department indicated that the $ 17 million that was cut from the fire department’s budget had a negative impact on the department’s ability to fight fires.
She confirmed that they were no longer able to continue in this situation, adding, “We do not have enough firefighters.”
The authorities of the state of Los Angeles, USA, announced that 58,000 buildings are at risk from the fires and evacuation orders for about 153,000 people.
According to the chief of the fire department, “I tried a lot to explain to city officials how short the number of staff, resources and funding is at the Los Angeles Fire Department.”
So far, at least 11 people have died as a result of the wildfires that have been ongoing for days in Los Angeles. Massive fires are sweeping through different neighborhoods in the state of California, USA, especially around the Los Angeles area.
