The Yemeni Parliament issued a strong condemnation of the recent decision by the U.S. administration to designate Ansarullah as a foreign terrorist organization. In a statement, the Parliament criticized the move as targeting not only the group but the entire Yemeni population.

“The classification represents an act of retaliation against Yemen for its principled stance in support of the Palestinian cause,” the Parliament said.

The statement accused US administrations of aligning with the interests of the “Zionist entity” and sharing responsibility for its crimes in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen. It described the designation as a continuation of a policy aimed at punishing those who resist U.S. influence through sanctions and increased suffering.

The Parliament called on Arab, Islamic, and international parliaments, as well as advocates for justice worldwide, to denounce the US decision, warning of its severe humanitarian consequences for Yemen.

The statement also criticized the former US President Donald Trump’s administration, accusing it of inconsistency in claiming to support peace initiatives while pursuing divisive foreign policies.

The Parliament emphasized Yemen’s sovereignty, warning against any actions that could undermine national independence or compromise the country’s resources.

Furthermore, it held the “mercenaries of aggression” accountable for the deteriorating security and living conditions in the occupied provinces, pointing to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

The statement concluded with a call for unity and vigilance to protect Yemen’s sovereignty and interests amidst international and regional challenges.
