Emirati militias established armed points and barracks in the oil-rich Hadhramaut Governorate.

A local source in the city explained that the Emirati militias from the so-called “Barashid” camp and “security support” deployed after tribal reinforcements arrived at the sites of the Saudi-backed tribal alliance west of Mukalla.

He confirmed that a number of Emirati military vehicles and armored vehicles were deployed near the alliance points on the coast of Ambah, indicating that the deployment came after the alliance sites in west Mukalla were subjected to a naval missile attack the day before yesterday, likely from an American warship.

He explained that the deployment of the Emirati militias aims to allow the passage of crude fuel tankers by force of arms, after the alliance prevented their exit except after achieving the legitimate demands of the people of Hadhramaut to grant them revenues from their looted wealth.

The “Hadhramaut Comprehensive Conference” warned in a statement yesterday of the continuation of the escalation that is heading towards blowing up the security situation in the governorate, and called for an urgent investigation into the party that carried out the attacks on the alliance sites after the leadership of the so-called “Second Region” denied its involvement in the incident.

In addition, Saudi Arabia announced yesterday its intention to recruit for the “Homeland Shield” militias in the eastern Yemeni province of Al Mahrah, in a clear challenge to the widespread local rejection by political and social components.

A statement issued by “Homeland Shield” in Al Mahrah said that “the process of registering new recruits will be limited to the sons of the province only”.Adding that a specialized technical supervisory committee will be formed before the start of training operations, which will be responsible for conducting medical examinations for applicants and verifying their identities”.

The statement claimed that “Homeland Shield” will complement the security and military agencies affiliated with the occupation there.

The process of registering the sons of Al Mahrah comes after it registered hundreds of extremist Salafist elements last December, amid widespread popular rejection of the formation of these militias to preserve the security and stability of Al Mahrah.

The leaders of the sit-in committee against foreign presence have threatened in recent days to escalate against Saudi trends in the governorate following its control of Al-Ghaydah Civil Airport overlooking the Arabian Sea in 2017, and its transformation into a joint American-British military base with the Zionist forces, according to statements by leaders in the committee.
