UN envoy Hans Grundberg left the capital Sana’a today after a three-day visit.
During the visit, Grundberg met with the Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Construction, Ahmed Al-Rahwi, Foreign Minister Jamal Amer, and a number of officials.
The Foreign Minister reiterated the Government of Change and Construction’s rejection of linking the peace process to any other regional file, stressing that Sana’a’s strategic choice is peace, and its readiness to sign the roadmap today with Saudi Arabia as the main party in the war if intentions are good.
He explained that the strategic choice for peace does not mean standing idly by in the face of escalation steps taken by other parties, and at the same time, Sana’a is keen to establish relations with neighboring countries based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.
Minister Amer stressed that Sana’a’s position is a source of strength, not weakness, indicating that bilateral relations based on sound foundations remain strong and are not affected by any circumstances or pressures.
