UN Security Council will hold a session on Yemen on Wednesday, the first since the beginning of the new year.
The official website of the United Nations reported that the Council will hold open consultations during which briefings will be presented by the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and the Assistant for Humanitarian Affairs.
The briefings will address developments in the political file in light of the UN envoy’s recent tour and the humanitarian situation in light of the recent Israeli-American-British aggression on the port of Hodeidah and Sana’a airport.
The Council will also hold a closed session to hear the report of the commander of the UN mission in Hodeidah.
The session is the first since the beginning of this year.
Although it is not expected that the Council, which has been divided for years, will come out with anything new on the subject of Yemen unless the envoy has received signals to start the road map in light of the Gaza agreement and the possibility of reducing the escalation in the Red Sea, which America is placing as an obstacle to the peace process in Yemen.
