An American website said that the construction of the mysterious airport on Abd al-Kuri Island in the Yemeni Socotra Archipelago is nearing completion.

The Maritime Executive website report suggested that the accelerated operations come in the context of the escalating conflict over Yemen, in light of the Sana’a government’s threats to international navigation heading to Israel in the Red and Arabian Seas.

The American website report linked the construction of the airport to the air strikes launched by the occupation entity on Yemen. According to the report, work began on the airport on Abd al-Kuri Island in 2021, but it progressed slowly for several consecutive months, and there was no clear progress. However, in recent weeks, the pace of work has accelerated.

Although the report ignored the role of the UAE in establishing the airport, many press reports had spoken since November 2022 about Emirati movements on Abd al-Kuri Island, including the start of construction of a military airport.

The Intel Lab platform, which specializes in monitoring military assets, published a new image at the time on its Twitter account revealing Abu Dhabi’s movements on Abd al-Kuri Island, located in the Indian Ocean, south of Yemen.

The occupation entity’s use of the new airport on Abd al-Kuri Island would put Abu Dhabi in a direct military confrontation with Sanaa, which had threatened to target any country that helped in the attacks on it.

Sanaa has demonstrated great ability in possessing precision missiles and advanced drones, which have become a long arm to impose new equations.
