Navigation in Bab al-Mandab, one of the most important shipping lanes in the world, returned to its peak on Tuesday, with the entry of the second week of Yemen’s decision to stop operations supporting Gaza.
International shipping reports showed an increase in the rate of ships crossing the strait, some of which were crossing for the first time.
According to the ship tracking sites affiliated with Lloyd’s List Intelligence, 15 ships crossed the strait for the first time in its history.
In addition, 16 ships that had decided to change their course via the Cape of Good Hope were recorded.
This data was recorded during the last two weeks following Yemen’s announcement of its commitment to the Gaza agreement.
The company reported that several international shipping companies had contacted the “Houthis” to ensure that they were no longer on the list of targets.
The data shows that about 22 ships have crossed the Bab al-Mandab Strait in recent days, including 200 ships with a capacity of 14 million tons that have returned to crossing the Suez Canal.
This data confirms the extent of recovery in the shipping lines near Yemen after they remained an open battlefield with Yemen’s decision to impose a navigation ban on the occupation in support of Gaza.
