165 Prisoners Released In Amran On The Occasion Of Ramadan

In a meeting held in Amran Governorate yesterday, it was decided to release 165 prisoners on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, in the presence of the governorate leadership, the head of the Court of Appeal, Judge Ahmed Sharaf Al-Din, and the head of the Appeal Prosecution, Judge Hadi Ayda, in addition to members of the release committee from the Attorney General’s Office.

The meeting, which included a number of officials, stressed the importance of releasing prisoners who meet the legal conditions, taking into account the humanitarian and social aspects with the advent of the holy month.

The head of the prosecution, Judge Hadi Ayda, explained that those released are inmates of the central correctional facility, the pretrial detention center, and detention centers in the directorates, noting that some of them have completed three-quarters of their sentences, or have proven good conduct, or have found solutions to their financial issues.

Judge Hadi Ayda called on businessmen and philanthropists to help those insolvent who are hindered by debts from regaining their freedom, stressing the importance of expanding the pretrial detention center and the central correctional facility due to overcrowding, by coordinating efforts between local authorities, the Prisons Authority, the Ministry of Interior, and the Attorney General’s Office.

The meeting was attended by a number of officials, including the first deputy governor, Abdulaziz Abu Kharfasha, the deputy Hassan Al-Ashqas, the director of the Martyrs Authority branch, Ibrahim Al-Nono, the director of the central correctional facility, Lieutenant Colonel Abu Zaid Al-Hawri, and the director of the pretrial prison, Lieutenant Colonel Abu Alaa Al-Hawri, in addition to members of the committee tasked with visiting the prisons.
