52 fishermen from the districts of Al-Khokha, Al-Jarrahi, and Al-Hodeidah arrived at the fish landing center in Al-Salif in the city of Hodeidah after being kidnapped and tortured in the prisons of the Eritrean authorities.
According to what was published by the website “26 September Net” During the reception, the director of the Al-Salif fish landing center, Abdo Al-Jalhabi, said that the arriving fishermen were detained in the Yemeni territorial waters off the island of Al-Kabir by the Eritrean Navy, and their property and boats were confiscated, and they were forcibly deported.
He pointed out that the repeated crimes of kidnapping and torture while practicing fishing in Yemeni territorial waters constitute a violation and crime against their right to fish in Yemeni territorial waters.
The reception was attended by the head of the Tihama Coast Association branch and the deputy director of maritime security in Al-Salif.
