African Summit condemned the Israeli war and brutal aggression on Gaza, rejecting Israel’s violations of international law and targeting of civilians and infrastructure.
The African Summit, held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, considered that “Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians and must be tried internationally.”
The summit also demanded in its final statement the immediate release of all Palestinian prisoners, noting that “the displacement of Palestinians from their land is unacceptable, and we consider it a violation of international law.”
The summit also called on the participating countries to “stop cooperation and normalization with Israel until it ends its occupation and aggression against Palestine.”
Last year, the African Union prevented an Israeli delegation from participating in the summit, and informed sources revealed to Al-Mayadeen at the time that the Israeli delegation was seen roaming the backstage secretly.
