The local authority in Bayda Governorate organized today an armed tribal rally to condemn the crime of murdering the citizen poet Rashid Alawi Al-Hatam, from the Qifa tribe, who was tortured to death in the prisons of the aggression’s mercenaries in Marib after being abducted for several days.

The participants condemned the abduction and torture of poet Al-Hattam until his death in the mercenaries’ prisons in Marib.

They considered this crime as “an extension of a series of killings, lynchings, and tortures against detainees and prisoners at the hands of the mercenaries affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition.”

The participants confirmed that this heinous crime reveals the ugly face of the aggression’s mercenaries and their oppressive apparatus, which had abducted Al-Hatam two weeks ago during his participation in a celebratory event on the eve of the Gaza ceasefire in Wadi Obeida.

They considered it as a serious violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits the killing or torture of detainees, describing it as a “war crime.”

The participants held the countries of the aggression coalition accountable for both this crime and others that preceded it, demanding a thorough investigation and criminal accountability for the coalition’s leaders and anyone found responsible for these atrocities.

They also reiterated their demand for the establishment of an independent international commission to investigate all crimes committed against the Yemeni people.

It is worth noting that dozens of detainees and abductees have died in the infamous “Political Security” prison in Marib, which is run by criminal gangs that practice the worst forms of torture, including electric shocks, against the detainees.
