Armed clashes erupted yesterday between the Saudi-funded “Homeland Shield” militias and tribal gunmen in the eastern Yemeni province of Al Mahrah, leaving a number of wounded.
A local source in the province reported that the clashes erupted between the extremist Salafi “Homeland Shield” elements and tribal gunmen opposed to the foreign presence in Al Mahrah, on the road between the Nishtun and Dabbut areas, leaving wounded on both sides.
This comes after Saudi Arabia deployed those militias that it created from extremist Salafi groups, amid widespread local rejection by the people of Al Mahrah.
The people of Al Mahrah accuse Saudi Arabia of spreading security chaos and terrorism by deploying those militias, which they called “The Shield of Sedition”.
In addition, popular protests continue against the government loyal to the Saudi-Emirati occupation in the southern provinces
The people of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan province, in southern Yemen, went out in a demonstration denouncing the continued resounding economic collapse and the deterioration of the local currency after the US dollar exceeded 2,200 Yemeni riyals.
The protesters raised banners denouncing the collapse of the currency, the deterioration of living and service conditions, the power outage, and the collapse of the local currency against foreign currencies.
Another one read “The collapse is not only economic, but also moral and human,” indicating that the policies of the mercenary government of Bin Mubarak have committed crimes and violated human rights and led to the exacerbation of crises and the collapse of state institutions.
This comes amid massive protests sweeping the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Al Dhale’e and Taiz, coinciding with the collapse of living conditions.
On the other hand, the militias loyal to the Saudi-Emirati occupation continue to commit murders, using their power over unarmed civilians in areas under their control.
Sources reported that the young man, Riyadh Abdullah Bajri, was killed by bullets from three mercenary recruits affiliated with the 135th Infantry Brigade loyal to the occupation, in the middle of his shop located in the Maryamah area in the Seiyun Directorate, indicating that the perpetrators have been detained.
The occupied territories are witnessing a noticeable escalation in murders and assassinations, without any real legal or security deterrence.
