Earthquake Strikes Abyan, Extends To Bayda, Yafea

The stations of the Yemeni Center for Monitoring and Studying Earthquakes and Volcanoes recorded a light earthquake in Abyan province, southern Yemen, during the early hours of Tuesday.

The head of the monitoring center, Eng. Mohammed Hussein Al-Houthi, reported that the earthquake measured 3.1 on the Richter scale and occurred in Wadi Hadid, southwest of Lawdar District.

Al-Houthi confirmed that the earthquake occurred at 11:47 pm last night and was felt by residents of neighboring districts, all the way to Yafa in Lahj province and parts of Bayda province.
