The “Eye of Humanity Center for Rights and Development” condemned, on Tuesday, the crime of torturing and killing the detained poet Rashid Alawi Al-Hatam in the prisons of the Islah Party loyal to the coalition in the city of Marib.
The center said in a statement that “torture to death is a serious violation of international humanitarian law, which criminalizes the killing or torture of detainees and describes it as a war crime,” considering that “this crime is an extension of a series of crimes of killing, dragging and torture against detainees and prisoners at the hands of mercenaries affiliated with the coalition led by the Saudi regime.”
It held “the countries of the aggression coalition responsible for the crime and its predecessors, and we demand an investigation and criminal accountability for the leaders of the coalition and those proven to be involved in these crimes,” renewing its call for “the formation of an impartial international investigation committee to investigate all crimes committed against the Yemeni people
