The Director General of the Health and Environment Office in Amran Governorate, Dr. Mohammed Al-Houthi, and the Director of Houth District, Allama Abdul Wahid Al-Ashqas, inaugurated the free medical treatment camp at Houth Rural Hospital, organized by the Ministry of Health and Environment in cooperation with Sana’a University, on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
The camp will last for three days, with the participation of a group of senior specialists and consultants, as it provides free medical services including diagnosis and treatment of pediatric diseases, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, ear, nose and throat, dentistry, bones, dermatology, heart, and surgery, in addition to laboratory tests and providing free medicines.
During the inauguration, Dr. Mohammed Al-Houthi stressed the importance of establishing the camp for the specialized medical services it provides to the people of Houth District and neighboring areas, noting that this initiative comes to alleviate the suffering of patients, especially in remote areas, and reflects the values of charity and solidarity adopted by the Ministry of Health and Sana’a University.
He also expressed his thanks to all the supporting parties, from the Ministry of Health, Sana’a University, and the participating medical staff, in addition to the pharmaceutical companies that provided free medicines to the camp.
For his part, the Director of Houth District, Allama Abdul Wahid Al-Ashqas, praised the efforts of the Ministry of Health in organizing such camps that provide health care to rural areas, expressing his hope that such initiatives will continue to enhance medical services in rural hospitals that have been affected by the withdrawal of supporting organizations.
In the same context, Dr. Abdullah Al-Imad, Director General of Camps at the Ministry of Health, explained that this camp targets more than 2,500 cases, in implementation of the leadership’s directives and an actual translation of the government’s program to deliver health services to various directorates through medical camps.
He also praised the efforts of the Health Office and the local authority in Houth District to support and make the camp a success. In turn, Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Mutahar, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Sana’a University, stressed that the university’s participation comes from a national and humanitarian responsibility, to contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens, especially in light of the difficult circumstances the country is going through.
This camp is an important step in alleviating the burdens of citizens, especially those with limited income, and embodies the values of charity and social solidarity, within the government’s orientations aimed at improving the level of health care for citizens.
The inauguration was attended by a number of leaders of the governorate’s health office, and medical staff in various specialties, led by Dr. Ahmed Al-Khazan, Director of the Dermatology Unit at the Ministry of Health.
