General Authority for Social Security and Pensions (GASSP) began today, Thursday, disbursing the second half of the December 2020 pension for civilian retirees.
This is part of the temporary exceptional mechanism to support the state’s payroll in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (2) of 1446 AH.
Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Haifi, the head of the authority, explained that this step came as a result of intensive efforts and continuous coordination with Abdul Jabbar Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, and Dr. Khaled Al-Hawali, the Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development, to ensure the continuity of regular pension disbursements. He clarified that this new mechanism guarantees the regular disbursement of pensions, with 12 disbursement operations to be carried out annually.
Al-Haifi pointed out that these measures fall within the framework of the government’s Change and Building Program, which places special emphasis on retirees in appreciation of their contributions and long service to the nation.
He called on retirees and their authorized agents to visit post offices, bringing along their personal and pension cards, to facilitate the receipt of their pensions.
