The General Organization for Antiquities and Museums (GOAM), strongly condemned on Wednesday the burning of the historic “Al-Arif Billah” Mosque in the Jabal Habashi district of Taiz province.
GOAM accused elements of the Islah Party of carrying out the arson, which destroyed the 600-year-old mosque located in Al-Ghadf village.
It also denounced the burning of the mosque, a significant cultural and religious landmark, as a criminal act that contradicts both religious and moral values, stressing the importance of confronting such attacks on Yemeni heritage.
GOAM called on local communities and security forces to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
It also urged international efforts to combat terrorism and protect cultural and religious heritage.
